This article is devoted to a comparative analysis of the works of two prominent Uzbek writers - Muhammad Ali and Nurali Qabul. It focuses on the principles and artistic methods of the two writers in depicting historical figures and events, as well as the image of a person. In the works of Muhammad Ali (in particular, in his epic novels about the era of Amir Temur and the Temurids), the principles of loyalty to historical truth, glorification of national pride and heroic qualities, and exaltation of a person as a great person prevail. His style is realistic-epic in nature, based on enriching events with a broad historical background and philosophical interpretation. In the works of Nurali Qabul, historical themes are often connected with modern socio-philosophical problems, and a sharp psychological analysis of the inner world of a person, his spiritual suffering, his place in society, and spiritual values is carried out. The article examines the common and different aspects of the two writers in the depiction of history and humanity - understanding of national identity, individual approaches to the artistic interpretation of reality, realistic and psychological methods of depiction, as well as their place in modern Uzbek literature based on comparative-historical and typological methods.
