This article is based on Fitrat’s views on Alisher Navoi, particularly his famous statement: “We have not encountered a second Navoi.” Fitrat is considered one of the first Uzbek Jadids who studied Navoi’s legacy scientifically. The article also provides an overview of modern approaches to teaching literature, with a particular focus on the competency-based approach. Within this framework, a lesson plan for 5th-grade students was developed using the case-study method, based on the story “The Lion and the Partridge” from Alisher Navoi’s epic “Hayrat ul-abror”. This research highlights the educational significance of teaching literature in fostering moral and ethical values such as honesty, loyalty, and friendship among students.
